Observing Female Sangheili (Elites) of Halo (Pt 1)

Sorry, I know I'm going on a bit of a Halo spasm, (XD) but this is driving me nuts and I must share my thoughts with the world. I thought it would be really cool to have a bunch of Halo fans get together and discuss, on a mature and logical level, a topic that has been flying around alot, female elites!

Before I begin, I should warn you, I may be figuring this all out AS I'm writing. Please also note, I am totally open to your thoughts as well and would love to sit down and have a conversation about this stuff. I think it would be really cool to get a bunch of Halo artists and fans together and actually discuss this topic, as there have already been many conversations and forums about it. This is more of an... action call I should say. I know that the sangheili race belongs to Bungie, but we are still unclear as to what the female elites actually look like.

WHY do we need to know what they look like? So we can either expand more in our own custom stories and get more creative with our art and other fan-made media. Another thing to take note of- this is an alien race! Nothing I say here is a definite... thing. It can always change. I'm just trying to look at this from a logical stand point. AGAIN, this is a fantasy alien! (I hate to admit. D: ) They can be anything! Jeez, create your own kind of female elite with whatever. ;D

One more thing to note before we get started; This is just to expand our ideas a bit more. It's not a "THIS IS HOW IT SHOULD BE OR ELSE THE WORLD WILL 'SPLODE D:<" kind of thing. Let me know if I miss anything, because I'm sure I will. XD

Alright! Let's get started.

The main and one of the most important questions is: Are the sangheili reptiles or mammals?

Well, let's think about this. We're going to have to do a lot of observing with the male elites.

Why should they be mammals? Well, they don't have scales. Their skin is actually like humans, but thicker. They don't have claws on their feet- it actually reminds me of an elephant, the way their toes are arranged. Their legs are shaped like a goat's almost, and they're very much humanoids. Another question that would help us sort this out- would they lay eggs or do they give birth? I would lean more toward giving birth- I'm not sure, but from what I imagine and the things I have seen, they have the hips for it. I just... it's a strange image seeing one squat down or something and lay eggs. XD Maybe it's just me.

Why should they be reptiles? Let's take a look at the Arbiter. In the third Halo, when he's listening to the Prophet speak, you can see several times, the Arbiter blinking. A sort of silver film goes over his eyes, like a snake or an alligator. Take a look at their hands- they're like claws. (Whether they're actual nails or it's just the way their fingers are shaped, I can't tell.)

I'm sure there are a lot more facts out there, if you guys want to hammer me with them. ._.

But from what I can tell, I think they are more reptile than mammal, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they ARE reptile. Again, these are aliens- they don't need to apply to our earthly rules. I read in a very interesting forum on this topic, a user said, " ...any thoughts on how mammals are do not apply to aliens- they're not from Earth. Thus, they don't have to follow any of our silly rules regarding species don't matter. They don't HAVE to have mammary glands if they have belly buttons. For that matter, we don't actually even know if Elites even have navels- it could just be a touch Indi added because she likes her Sangheili to look like that."

Female elites being more reptilian than mammals is not such a bad thing. For me, they look too human when they have them. XD BUT THAT'S JUST ME.

When I first thought of a mammal elite, with hair and such, it just seemed a bit awkward. But this artist, Jadeitor painted it out very well.

Mammal = Sexy
Reptile = Bad @*$

That's the sort of mood the two give me.

My favorite way to go is somewhere in between. Give them a more reptile appeal, and then maybe a few mammal features. (Eye lashes?) They ARE aliens. >.> Why not?

Another big thing- BOOBS. (Ha, see what I did there? XD Yeah, no, seriously. >.> Serious mode, guys. <.< Boobs are serious matters.)

I honestly don't think that female elites would have them. They could, but look at their jaws. They don't have a lower jaw and with all of those teeth along their mandibles, suckling would be very painful for the mother. I hear you other people out there, "BUT THEY NEED THEM! D:" I KNOW, but... from a logical stand point.

Also consider, in a comic, a good point was mentioned that elites can't suck or blow. (ahcs.bungie.org/comics/114/) Sensible enough.
