It’s too cold out here in the dark to even think of moving. The silver rain turns to soft snow. White frost layers the muddy earth and covers your path. Your senseless body collapses. Tiny frozen droplets land on your skin, and if you were focused, you would have felt them melt, turn to water, and drizzle in miniature rivulets down your bare arms and chest. If you were here, you would have noticed the gay twirls of the snowflakes swirling about you. If you were here, you would have noticed that your fingers and toes were blue, and that your body was screaming in pain.
